Iris May King 78 of Gautier, MS passed away at her home on Friday, January 15, 2010.
Ms. King was born in Gautier, Ms on October 20, 1931. She was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Iris could be hard as steel when she defended those she loved but also as soft as a rose when it came to their care. She never married but was a mother , grandmother, aunt and friend to many. She will be greatly missed.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Esther King; a brother, Freddie King; three sisters, Jean Hayes, Edwina Radel and Ann Salisbury.
She is survived by a sister, Isel L. Simmons of Latimer, MS; special niece and caregiver, Amanda Burge and her husband James of Gautier,MS.; numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held Monday, January 18, 2009 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home Gautier Chapel from 11am-12noon.
Graveside Service to follow at Pinecrest Cemetery with Larry McVeay officiating.
