Mable Eugenia Seale Williams passed away at 90 years old in Mobile, Alabama on Sunday January 31, 2010 peacefully with her grandson Paul and wife Lauren by her side. She was born February 12, 1919 in Birmingham, Alabama to the late Charles Jefferson and Velma Seale. She grew up in Homewood and married in Mobile where she gave birth to her only daughter, Evelyn Eugenia Williams. She always wanted to be surrounded by family and was able to watch her grandchildren and great grandchildren grow when she moved to Atlanta in 1981. After her only daughter passed away in 2008, she moved down to Mobile to be with Paul and his family. During that time she shared many unforgettable memories with her great granddaughters and Paul’s entire family. Eugenia was a longtime member of Norcross First United Methodist Church in Norcross, Georgia and thoroughly enjoyed the many services she dedicated her time to. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her only husband Mac Sloss Williams, brother Frank Seale, and daughter Evelyn Williams Wood. He is survived by her two grandchildren and four great grandchildren, Paul, Lauren, Kaitlyn and Hailey Wood of Mobile Alabama and Lindsey, Jamie, Ally and Cody Darwin of Pisgah, Alabama., brother Bill Seale of Hirem, Georgia, a nephew Steve Seale of Florence, Alabama and three nieces, Sharron Hall of Florida, Ellen Black of Sugar Hill, Georgia and Susan Martin of Jasper, Georgia.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday February 3, 2010 at Elmwood Cemetery in Birmingham, Alabama from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Officiating the service is longtime friend Brenda Westmoreland. Eugenia was a woman of God and a rock to many. She spread God’s love to each and every person she met just by her smile. She was known by many as “Grandma” and shared her heart with any who had the opportunity to know her. She is now resting peacefully with God in heaven and all those lost before her. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Those who would prefer may send donations to the Susan B. Comen Breast Cancer Fund at www.komen.org.
