Billy Ray Killingsworth , 78, of Escatawpa, MS passed gently away while sleeping at his home.
Billy Ray “Paps” was born May 2, 1934 in Chase, LA to Almon and Ludie Killingsworth the third of 6 boys. On January 24, 1954 he married his true love Vera Allen. He was proud to be a member of the IBEW #903 for the past 58 years, and was glad to tell he wired most of Singing River Hospital. In early years he enjoyed hunting and fishing and in the latter years drinking coffee with the Walmart Gang.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Mark Killingsworth; great grandson, Caleb; and four brothers, Cecil , Buddy, G.C. and Lavon Killingsworth.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years Vera Allen Killingsworth of Escatawpa, MS; son, Terry Killingsworth and his wife Amelia of Monticello, Arkansas; daughter, Rhonda Killingsworth Winegar of VA; one brother, Mike Killingsworth and his wife Nancy of Biloxi, MS; six grandchildren, Stephanie Killingsworth, Allen Killingsworth, Jeremy Killingsworth, Taylor Winegar, David Barclay, and Aaron Killingsworth; six great grandchildren, Hannah and Luke Smith, Dylan, Tyler, and Mattie Killingsworth and Jayce Lofton; and numerous nieces , nephews and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, February 21, 2013 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 11-1pm with funeral services following at 1pm in the chapel. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Those who would like may express their condolences online at www.obryantokeefe.com
