History of O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home

Mr. Roy T. O’Bryant moved to Jackson County in 1943 and began providing the families of Jackson and George County with both ambulance and funeral service. Eventually Mr. O’Bryant purchased half interest in Fails Funeral Home at which point the name was changed to Jackson County Mortuary. In 1963 he purchased the Taylor home and moved the Pascagoula funeral home to its present location and changed the name to what would become his namesake. Following Mr. O’Bryant’s death in 1984 Mrs. O’Bryant asked long time family friend Jerry O’Keefe to help her family carry on her husband’s legacy. A decision that would ultimately change the name to O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home. Under Mr. O’Keefe’s direction O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home continued to grow. In 1999 O’Bryant-O’Keefe realizing the need to expand in Jackson County opened a second location in the City of Gautier. The traditions that began with Mr. Roy O’Bryant and Mr. Jerry O’Keefe continue today with our current staff.

We are committed to our community with a PROUD PAST and a PROMISING FUTURE.
