Darrell Wayne Brannon, age 71, of Helena passed away on Saturday, Aug. 24, 2019. He was born June 13, 1948 in Panama City, FL and has been a longtime resident of this area. He was a United States Army veteran having received Purple Heart and metals serving during Vietnam. Wayne retired from Chevron as Petroleum contractor and enjoyed working for Lowes after Katrina. He attended Church of God in Pascagoula and was an avid Alabama Fan. Wayne enjoyed gardening vegetables, flowers, and planting trees.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 46 years, Genevieve; parents, Milton and Juanita Brannon. He is survived by his son and his fiancé’, Derryl Brannon and Tina Stanford, Moss Point; nephew, Mark Lockmiller; niece, Terry Harrington, of Moss Point; five grandchildren, Landon, Brooklyn, Alexandra , Ashleigh, and Bryan; former daughter-in-law, Shana Poole, Theodore, AL; numerous other relative and friends.
Visitation will be Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2019, 6:00-8:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will be Thursday, at the funeral home, 3:00pm, with Rev. Eugene Eubanks officiating. Interment will follow with military honors at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
