Donald Paul Travers

Donald Paul Travers, 84, of Gautier, MS passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 22, 2019 after a brief illness.  He was born November 10, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri and has lived in Gautier since 1975 with his wife of 55 years, Eileen Travers. He served in the Army from 1960-1962 as part of the GI bill. He earned a degree in accounting from St. Louis University. After completing his degree, he moved with his family to Gautier where he worked for the Federal Government for over 25 years as an auditor for Defense Contract Audit Agency.  He was an active member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. He enjoyed spending time with family, dining out with his wife, and joking around with his friends and family.  Don was preceded in death by his parent, John and Mary Travers, and most of his brothers and sisters. 

He is survived by his wife, Eileen Travers, and his children, Linda Green (David), Nancy Lorusso (Peter), Steven Travers (Ara), Michael Travers (Tara), and Karen Flores (BJ); his grandchildren Tyler Green, Courtney Green, Jacob Lorusso, Mary Elizabeth Lorusso, Caroline Travers, Garrett Travers, Michael Travers, and Alexandra Flores. 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, August 27, at 10:00 am until 11:00 am with a Memorial service to begin at 11:00am at O’Bryant O’Keefe Funeral Home in Gautier, MS.  Graveside with family to follow service.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to his caregivers over the past few years whom he treasured, Janet Bosarge, Jackie Maples and Jackie Hinton.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
