Edwin Eugene Riggs

Edwin Eugene Riggs, Jr. age 90, of Pascagoula passed away on Christmas Day, Dec. 25, 2019 at Singing River Hospital. He was born August 12, 1929 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi as the only child of Edwin Eugene Riggs, Sr. and Winnie Glover Riggs and was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during Korean War.  He received his Bachelors of Political Science Degree from George Washington University and was employed with S.D. Warren Printing Company in Washington and Massachusetts. Mr. Riggs was the owner of The Fudge Company in Seneca, South Carolina and enjoyed wood carving and gardening vegetables and flowers.  He was of the Baptist faith.

He is preceded in death by his former wife of 39 years, Mary C. Riggs and his childhood sweetheart and second wife of 15 years, Elizabeth “Libby” Jane Riggs.

Mr. Riggs is survived by his daughter and daughter-in-law, Lauren Riggs (Christine Giacomozzi, Milton, MA; son and daughter-in-law, Douglas Riggs (Crysty), Seneca, SC; four grandchildren, Joshua, Lerrin, Emily, and Jacob Riggs; special loving family members, Mathis, Swinney, Pittman, and Riser families.

Mr. Riggs will be laid to rest at Robinson Memorial Garden in Easley, South Carolina. No public services will be held.
