Hugo T. Martin Obituary

Hugo Tomas Martin, age 89, of Gautier passed away on Sunday, December 1, 2019 after a brief illness. He was born July 21, 1930 in Cuba and has been a resident of Gautier for 15 years. In 1988, he retired as Lieutenant from Brouward County Sherriff Department in Florida after 20 years of employment. He was a commercial fisherman in the Florida Keys and loved to supply his family and friends with Lobsters and Crabs. Hugo was a very intelligent and talented gentlemen with many abilities in wood working and “tinkering” with things to fix. He will be greatly missed by all that knew him and loved him.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Tomas Martinez and Laudelina Farinas Martinez; sister, Norka Suarez; many many fur babies.

He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Marie Martin, Gautier; son, Thomas Martin, Gautier and two grandchildren, Taylor Martin and Hugo Thomas Martin; two beloved fur babies, Zeus and Zo.

Family will be arranging a Memorial Mass at a later date.
