James L. Crane, 85 of Gautier, Mississippi passed away peacefully on Friday, November 9, 2018 surrounded by his loving family. Born September 26, 1933 to Sanford Crane and Lola May Crane. He married Irene Tatum and they moved to Mississippi in 1970.
James went by many names Daddy, C-Pappy, Old Man, and Papa. Anyone who met this happy, fun-loving, gentle soul couldn't help, but love him. He was adored by all. He enjoyed fishing, coffee and sweets, a good Reuben sandwich, and the company of his family. James retired after devoting 31 years at Ingalls Shipyard as a welder and shipfitter. He was an active member of his church and community.
James is survived by his loving wife, Irene Crane; children, James Crane Jr., Becky Hughes, Phyllis Keenum; eight grand children; many great grandchildren; brothers Ben Crane, David Crane, Sanford Crane Jr., Lewis Crane, Delmer Crane; sisters Doris Anderson, Wilma Jean Young; and other family and friends.
Visitation will be Thursday, Nov. 14, 2018, 1:00- 2:30 pm at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 2:30pm in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bennett Coker officiating. Interment will be at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Assembly of God in Vancleave, MS.
