Jenny Lynn Havard

Jenny was raised in Rocky Creek community of Lucedale, Mississippi. The oldest of 6; Lisa Rogers (Charles) of Lucedale, MS, Ben Brown (Louise) of Lucedale, MS, Joe Brown (Janet) of Round Rock, TX, Jim Brown (Sedeania) of Lucedale, MS, Polly Havard (DeWayne) of Lucedale, MS.

She graduated from George County High School in 1971. She was employed with Singing River Electric for 16 years before her employment at Ingalls Shipbuilding for 25 years.  Jenny retired from Ingalls in February of 2016 and recently decided to go back to work for Ingalls because she missed being around all of her work family. Jenny was a member of First Baptist Church in Gautier.

Jenny was an avid reader and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially if it was on the water. Whether it was out on the boat or at the beach.  She is preceded in death by her father, Roy DeWitt Brown and mother, Jessie Marie Jones Clark.

She is survived by her loving family; Christopher Havard (Melissa) – Gautier, MS, Rebecca Swann – Pascagoula, MS and Jonathan Havard (Lauren) – Delray Beach, FL. Her grandchildren; Cherish Burnett (Adam), Ryan, Michaela, Marshall, Lars, Bridgett, Blair and Grant. Her great grandchildren, Grayson and Lawson Burnett and a host of nieces, nephews and devoted friends. Time with her grandchildren and her family is time that she cherished more than anything. Jenny would attend all of her children’s and grandchildren’s ball games and recitals. Whatever her babies needed, Jenny (Nana) was always there.

To most outside of her family she was known as “Mama Jenny.” She might bake some homemade goodies for you or just be there as an ear to listen. Jenny made you feel like you were family just as soon as you met her. Her heart and her spirit are selfless. Everyone who surrounded Jenny knows she is truly one in a million.

Visitation will be Saturday, April 6, 2019, 1:00-3:00pm, at First Baptist Church in Gautier.  Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm at the church followed by a Funeral Procession to Rocky Creek Cemetery in Lucedale. Her pallbearers will be Scott Pierpont, Jacob Rogers, Justin Rogers, Trent Rogers, Josh Dixon and Travis Brown.
