Linda (Easterling) Goodnight

Linda Easterling Goodnight, passed peacefully from her earthly home surrounded by her children on Tuesday, December 4, 2018 after a very short battle with cancer.

Linda was born in Jones County, MS on May 22, 1951 to the late Alfred and Grace Johnson Easterling.  Linda was a very successful business woman in Ocean Springs, MS until an accident in 1998 left her paralyzed.  Prior to her accident; she was an X-Ray Technician and Licensed Massage Therapist and one of the first graduates of the Blue Cliff College in New Orleans. She worked long hours serving the community and was well known by members of the local government administration and medical profession as many were her clients.  Linda was a very strong person and remained that way throughout her life.  She loved living and used her sense of humor to conquer obstacles on her journey. She only wanted the best for others and greeted everyone with a smile.  Even in her fragile state, she would check on others during storms and troubling times, setting the moral compass for her children. She was a loving and devoted mother and enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Services remembering the life of Linda will be at noon on Sunday, December 9, 2018 with visitation one hour prior to service at Turning Point Pentecostal Church in Gautier, MS with Bro. Derrick Killingsworth officiating. Graveside services will follow with burial in Brown Cemetery, Jones County, MS.

Linda is survived by her daughter, Angela (Jim) Dodson of Pass Christian, MS; son Jason (Betty) Goodnight, of Hurley, MS; son Joshua Goodnight, of Ocean Springs, MS;  grandchildren Noah Dodson, Caden Goodnight, Grace Goodnight, Abby Goodnight, Autumn Perry and Ariana Perry; sisters Shirley Roberts of Pascagoula, MS and Faye (Michael) Brugh of Mobile, AL and many nieces and nephews and friends.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Ann Walley, Mary Helen Nicholson and Billie Jean Blackwell;  and a brother, Bill Hankins

Pallbearers will be Jason Goodnight, Joshua Goodnight, Jim Dodson, Noah Dodson, Jeff Roberts and Mike Blackwell.  Honorary Pallbearers are Ricky Walley, Robert McIntosh and Ashley Nicholson
