Vernon Lynn Rouse took his place in the heavenly choir on Sunday, November 17, 2019.
Lynn was born on June 1, 1948 to Vernon Owen and Dorothy McVeay Rouse in Jackson County. He never left this area and made a huge impact in everything he did. He was a Pascagoula High School graduate Class of 1966 and attended MGCCC. He was President of Koast Karate Klub for more than 40 years , was an 8th Degree Black Belt and legend in the Karate world who taught martial arts for over 45 years . Lynn was past owner and president of T.A.B. Industries and a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula. Lynn was a political enthusiast and former chairman of Jackson County Republican Executive Committee and continued to be involved in politics as long as his health allowed.
Lynn was such a ray of sunshine. One seldom saw him without a smile on his face and he had a knack for making others smile. He loved singing, traveling, riding his motorcycle, spending time with his children, grandchildren, and one great grandchild.
He traveled the world, was able to see much of the United States on his motorcycle. Lynn especially enjoyed his trips to the Holy Land and being able to experience the place where so many miracles happened. Lynn and was an intricate part of coordinating the HOG ride for the Home of Grace. He was more than an entertainer, he was a lifelong musician and singer lifting his voice in an Elvis like sound that the community so enjoyed.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Gay Suzzette Davin. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Naomi) Rouse and Jason (Julie) Rouse; brothers Gene (Becky) Rouse and Kevin (Kim) Rouse; grandchildren, Lauren (Brian) Snow, Conner, Adaline, Scarlett, Isabelle, Eli, Jake Rouse and great granddaughter, Tatum Snow. In addition he leaves behind his church family, a karate family and a community full of fans who loved him dearly.
Visitation will be Thursday , November 21, 2019 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 5-7 pm with funeral to begin at 7 in the chapel. Graveside Service will be held Friday, November 22 at 11am at Byrd Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
