Vernon “Bubba” Sanders, age 77, of Pascagoula passed away on Saturday, Oct. 5, 2019 at his residence. He was born May 5, 1942 in Yazoo City, MS and has been a longtime resident of this area. Bubba worked construction in Mississippi, Alabama, Louisiana and Florida. He was an avid sports fan supporting all of Miami Sports both college and professional. Bubba enjoyed Ole Miss sports and was a big fan of the Atlanta Braves.
He is preceded in death by his former wife and mother of his children, Judith F. Sanders; daughter-in-law, Vickie Sanders; nephew, Cody Sanders; special dog, Big Mike; grand-dog, Bubba.
Vernon is survived by his daughter, Susan Sanders Leger and her husband, James of Jennings; two sons, Derrick Sanders, Pascagoula; James Sanders, Jacksonville, FL; sister and brother, Leona Smith (Dickie), Charlie Sanders (Brenda), all of Tennessee; two grandchildren, Kaycee Sanders and Justin Sanders; former daughter-in-law, Lisa Huckabee; nieces and nephews, Stormy Reed, Shane Smith, Leslie Weller, Robin Rogers, Eddie Sanders, Crissy Sanders and Carrie Sanders; beloved dog, Paco; grand-dogs, Poppy and Cal.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Oct. 8, 2019, 10:00-11:00 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral procession will leave at 11:00am for Graveside service at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula. You may send condolences to his family at www.obryantokeefe.com
