Adair Davis Wilson passed away on Monday, August 8, 2022 at Vicar’s Wellness Center in Ponte Vedra, FL at the age of 95. Adair was born to William and May Davis on February 12th, 1927 in Moss Point, Mississippi. Adair was a kind and giving soul who was always eager to support her family, philanthropic causes, and local community. She participated in many community organizations over the years and was an active member of the Vicar’s Landing community until she was no longer able. She loved her Boston Terriers, sailing and playing golf with her late husband Edward Wilson.
As a child she moved with her family to several different locations such as Panama City, FL, Georgetown, SC, Spring Hill, LA and Mobile, AL, as part of her father’s employment. She graduated from the University of South Carolina in the late 1940s, where she met her first Husband Robert “Bob” Cannon. She and Bob were married until his untimely death in 1951. She later married Edward Wilson and lived in Ocean Springs, MS until his passing in 1992. She and Ed traveled the world together as part of his employment as a US diplomat. Travel was something she enjoyed and continued to do after his passing. Adair then moved to Ponte Vedra to be close to her remaining family.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, William Phillip Davis and May Herring Davis; sister, Mary Hazle Davis; brother, William Phillip Davis II; and husbands, Robert Cannon and Edward Wilson.
She is survived by her nephews, William Phillip Davis III (Yasumi Davis) and Robert McMaster Davis (JoAnne Davis), great-nephews Daniel Davis (Deena Davis), Mathew Davis, Luke Davis; great-niece, Maya Davis; grand-nephews Robert, John, Arron, and Zach Davis; grand-niece Reaghan Krone (Sawyer Krone).
A graveside funeral service will be at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula on Saturday, August 27, 2022 at 10:00 AM. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com.
