Albert Gary Brown, 87, a resident of Gautier, MS died at Ocean Springs Hospital on January 31, 2024.
Gary was born on September 26, 1936 in Memphis, TN to Oatis W. Brown Jr and Catherine Gary Brown. He grew up in the Byram, MS area and moved to the Gulf Coast where he lived for the past 60 years.
He served in the U.S. Army and was an honor graduate of the NCO Academy in Munich, Germany. He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad and also from Mississippi Power Company. He was an avid fisherman and farmer. He was a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.
He was preceded in death by his parents and survived by his wife of 64 years, Floyce S. Brown; three daughters, Rena K. Baker (Gene), Amanda Walker (Philip) and Mary Louks (Ron); two sons, Thomas Gary Brown and Oatis Wilfred Brown III (Rusty); ten grandchildren, Lisa Bell (John) , Mit Cole (Amber), Ashley Yoos (Phil), Andrew Cole (Casey), Charlie Torjusen (Rachelle), Josh Baker, Wil Brown, Riley Brown, Anna Grace Brown, Faith Brown and six, great grandchildren.
Visitation will be Monday February 5, 2024 at Gautier O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 7-8 pm with funeral service to follow in the chapel at 8 pm. Interment will conclude at Terry City Cemetery, In Terry, MS on Tuesday at 2 pm. Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Baker, Wil Brown, Drew Cole, Mit Cole, Charlie Torjusen and Phil Yoos. Honorary Pallbearers will be Mark Burns, Chase Carr, Tyler Carr, Ricky Carr, Bryan Carr, Eddie Carr, Walker Carr, Wayne Mixon, David Orange and Tim Dodge.
