Albert Jack "Skipper" Garrett, passed away, Saturday, January 15, 2022, at the age of 79, in Foley, Alabama. Jack was born on January 8, 1943, at the old Hospital, in Jackson County, Mississippi.
He is survived by his loving wife Jo Ann Avent Garrett, his daughter Amy Weaver, his son Randolph Jack Garrett (Jamie), grandchildren Emily Krantz, Mollie Garrett, Sophia Garrett, step children Jo Lynne Cordova (Arturo), and Jim Hallock (Kacie), step grandchildren Kenzie Haggerty, Krimson Hallock, Kyndall Hallock, Justin Pellegrin (Megan), and Samantha Omine (Stephen). Great grandchildren James Joseph (J.J.) and Mia Pellegrin, and his Aunt Devergne Watts Simms.
He was preceded in death by his parents Felton Randolph and Thelma Lois (Simms) Garrett.
Jack graduated from Moss Point High School in 1961, and received his Masters Degree in Chemical Engineering from Mississippi State University in 1968. He enjoyed two successful careers. The first one in the Petroleum Industry where he traveled all around the US, various foreign countries and also lived in Luxembourg and Japan. His second career was teaching school (auto tech and chemistry) at New Caney High School, in Texas. He enjoyed active memberships in the Shriners, Masons and 32 Degree Scottish Rite. Jack had a lifelong passion for restoring old vehicles.
His body will be cremated and ashes interred at the Simms family plot in Machpelah Cemetery at a future date in the Spring.
