Anne Brown Huffstatler, age 78, passed away on August 8, 2023, surrounded by her children. She was born December 8, 1944, in Glendale, California. Anne grew up in Gainesville, Texas, and married her husband, James Huffstatler, in 1967. They began their lives together in Tchula, Mississippi, and moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi, in 1976. Anne devoted most of her life to being there for her family and began work in 1999 following her husband’s death. Anne retired in 2018 from the Jackson County Emergency Services Department, where she was the Jackson County Fire District administrative assistant for many years. She resided in Moss Point, MS, and was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula.
She is preceded in death by her husband, James E. Huffstatler, and her parents, Jesse J. (Jim) and Myrtle Anna Brown.
Anne is survived by her two children, James E. (Jay) Huffstatler, Jr., New Orleans, LA, Jennifer E. Huffstatler, Mobile, AL, and numerous cousins.
Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am on Friday, August 11, 2023, with visitation beginning at 10:00am- 11:00am at First Presbyterian Church in Pascagoula, 1819 Pascagoula Street, Pascagoula, MS 39567, with the Rev. Matt Mitchell officiating. Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery, Moss Point, MS. Firefighters from the Jackson County Fire District will serve as pallbearers.
