Annie Mai Jamison Obituary

Annie Mai Smith Jamison died peacefully in her home on Friday, June 10, 2022 at the age of 83. She was born in Jackson, Tennessee, to John Harold Smith and Jeanette Prendergast Smith on February 2, 1939.

Annie Mai was a longtime member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church, serving her community volunteering with St. Vincent de Paul Society for 25 years. Annie Mai worked for the City of Pascagoula as the director of “Keep America Beautiful”, where she retired in 2000, further serving her community. She was a Founding member of Pascagoula Pride and served as Director, a member of DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) where she recently served as Treasurer, a life member of National Association of Junior Auxiliary, a member of the Pilgrimage Garden Club, a member of the Magnolia Garden Guild, a longstanding member of SYRC (Singing River Yacht Club) and played in several local Bridge Clubs. She loved to spend her free time reading and researching her family’s genealogy. She enjoyed life and experiencing different cultures. She loved to travel, especially to Italy. Annie Mai had a generous spirit, and always lent her time to others. She was a loving mother, wife, sister, proud grandmother, great grandmother and friend. Her honesty, intelligent wit, and loyal friendship will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 22 years, James Thomas Jamison; her parents as listed above; and sister, Harriet Smith Huggins.

She is survived by daughters, Marilyn Ellis (Paul), Betsy Alexander (Andy), Joyce Jamison, and Patricia Lynn (John); grandchildren, Meredith Grimm (Lee), Hunter Ellis (Sarah), Parker Ellis (Heather), Jamison Hollister (McGhee), Graham Hollister (Shelby), Kate Tominello (Drew), and John Parker Lynn; one older sister, Rachel Jeanette Smith; and 8 great grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Hunter Ellis, Lee Grimm, Parker Ellis, Jamison Holliser, Graham Hollister, Parker Lynn and Drew Tominello. Honorary Pallbearers will be Bobby Gaines, Peyton Passons, Paul Moore, Bud Ehlert, Andy Alexander, Paul Ellis, and John Lynn. Altar attendants will be Brandt Linton, and Elijah Coats. The family would like to thank her devoted caregivers at Kare in Home, Hospice of Light, and especially Barbara Irvin, Doris Hill, Gina Edwards and Rashanda Hardy.

Funeral Mass will be held at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church on Wednesday, June 15, 2022 at 11:00am with burial to follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
