Audrey Anderson Obituary

Audrey Lindgren Anderson, age 100, passed away on Thursday, April 10, 2025 in Ocean Springs, Mississippi. She was born September 3, 1924 in St. Paul, Minnesota to Hilding and Inga Lindgren. She attended school in So. St. Paul, Minnesota and graduated from So. St. Paul High School and also attended Rasmussen Business College in St. Paul, Minnesota.  In December of 1944, she married the love of her life, Charles Ray Anderson. They were married for 66 years before his death. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles R. Anderson; two brothers, John “Jack” Lindgren of Napa, California and Jerome “Jerry” Lindgren of San Pablo, California.

She moved to San Pablo, California in 1945 to live with her parents while her husband was overseas in the Navy in World War II and subsequently moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi in 1962 when her husband was transferred with the start up of Standard Oil Refinery.

She was a longtime member of Christ Lutheran Church in Pascagoula.  She was active in the Choir, Alter Guild, Mary Martha/LWML and generally a part of all church activities.

She was active in Anola Club, Friend of The Library, Red Cross Volunteer for over 25 years, active in Camp Blue Bird as a Cancer survivor and volunteer for many years. Also, she was a part of the UpBeat Line Dancers. She taught water aerobics at the Pascagoula County Club where she was given an honorary membership after the death of her husband.

She was employed over the years in many places. In Minnesota, she worked at Swift & Company. In California, she was employed at the Naval Supply Depot in Personnel and Herrick Memorial Hospital as a Statistician. When moving to Mississippi, she was employed at ARA Food Services at Ingalls Shipbuilding as an Office Manager and Frigitemp Marine as Assistant to the Personnel Manager.  Also, she went to work at the Mississippi Employment Security Commission in the Unemployment Division for many years until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughter, Christine Anderson Ciesiensky (John), Corryton, Tennessee; son, Stephen Anderson (Katherine); two grandchildren, Tyson Ciesiensky (Kim), Fairview, TN; Lindsey Luckado (Cody), Melissa, Tex; two great grandchildren, Katelyn and Addison Ciesiensky and Baby Luckado expected in August 2025.

Visitation will be Wednesday, April 16, 2025, 10:00-11:00am at Christ Lutheran Church in Pascagoula.   Funeral Service will begin at 11:00am at the church with Pastor Martin Gilliland officiating. Interment to follow at Jackson County Memorial Park in Pascagoula. Pallbearers will be Carl Erichsen, Dave Griffin, Roger Cox, Dave Hamilton, Shawn Robbins, and Kevin Rademacher.  Special thanks to Truewood by Merrill, Enhabit Home Health, Riverchase Village, Singing River Hospital Ocean Springs and Pascagoula and Dr. Matthew Murray.
