Audrey L. Hood

Audrey L. Hood passed away, Saturday June 26, 2021 at the age of 88.

Audrey was born June 1, 1933 in Cairo, Il to James and Stella Ice.  She met and married the love of her life, James L Hood on April 29, 1952. They shared 52 years together until his death in 2004. She spent many years working in the retail industry and enjoyed meeting people. She was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Vancleave, as long as her health permitted. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, watching her flowers flourish and the birds commune with nature. She loved her family and especially adored the grands, great grands, and great-great grands. We are comforted in knowing she is reunited with our father and reaping the benefits of a life well lived.

In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deanna Wooten; grandson, John Hood; siblings, James Ice, Frank Ice, John Ice, Martha Minton, Florence Miller and Stella Mae Thompson.

She is survived by her children; Debra Bradley of Conway, AK, Donna M. Griffin of Ocean Springs, MS, Steve J. Hood (Emily) of Vancleave, MS and Michael J Hood (Venus) of Orange Beach, AL; nine grandchildren, Amanda, Stephanie, Sonya, Phillip, James, Randy, Todd, Marissa and Elizabeth "Lizzie"; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren and two dear friends, Martha Davis and Josephine McNair.

Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 30, 2021 at 11:30am at Gautier O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to service. Interment will conclude at Vancleave Cemetery on Jim Ramsey Rd. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
