Bertha Lea Miller Ryan

Bertha Lea Miller Ryan passed away Tuesday February 11, 2020 at the age of 98.

Bertha was born December 8, 1921 in Killian, LA one of ten children born to Bosa and Grace Smith Miller. She married John Ryan and they had two children, Betty Rae and John Jr. “Sonny”.  She was a faithful longtime member of Calvary Baptist Church now Arlington Baptist Church. In earlier years she worked with the preschool children and also served on the Bereavement Committee for too many years to count. Mrs. Ryan worked at First Chemical for a short time as a Security Guard but her greatest occupation was that of a mother and grandmother.  She loved being outside working in her yard and garden and experiencing nature. Oh, the things she has seen in her lifetime and what wonderful things she is now seeing. 

She is reunited with her parents; husband John “Johnny” Ryan; a son, John “Sonny” Ryan Jr.; siblings, Doris Miller, Morris Miller, Lansing Miller, Melna Willie, Herd Miller, Webb Miller, Charles “Pete” Miller, Valmond Miller and Jimmy Miller.

She is survived by her daughter Betty Rae Robinson and her husband Richard; granddaughter, Catherine Lea Durig (Dan),  great-grandson, Ryan Durig; numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 1:00 PM, at Arlington Baptist Church in Pascagoula with visitation one hour prior to service. Entombment will conclude at Jackson County Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be Dale Miller, Elvis Miller, Rodney Miller, Leo Miller, Dan Durig, Ryan Durig, and John Anders Burt. Honorary Pallbearers will be Elwood miller, Donnell Miller, Roy Miller, Raymond Wille, Ed Miller, Ronnie Miller, Glenn Miller, and Robert Miller,
