Carmen Dossett Obituary
July 4, 1969 ~ January 10, 2026 (age 56)
Carmen Yvonne Dunston Dossett, age 56, of Orlando, FL passed away on Saturday, January 10, 2026.
She was born July 4, 1969 in Pascagoula, MS. She graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1987 then attended the University of Southern Mississippi. She received her Bachelor degree in Psychology and her Master degree in social work. Her certifications included MSW, LCSW, ACSW, CSW-G and C-ASWCM. She was an employee with Advent Health East Orlando as Outpatient Oncology Social Worker. Carmen enjoyed art, the beach, gardening and spending time with her family, friends and pets.
Her true character cannot be described in accomplishments alone. When diagnosed last year with stage 4 bone cancer, she got busy. She was fighting to survive, but planning if she did not. Her top priority was that her family, in particular her daughter, Kayle, would not be burdened, financially or emotionally. She remained positive even in the face of death. She was courageous, determined, strong, and beautiful inside and out. She was a shinning star in a dark world. Keep shining Carmen, your memory will live forever in our hearts.
Carmen is preceded in death by her father, Edward Clinton Dunston. She is survived by her daughter, Kayle Dossett; her mother, Connie Seamen Dunston; her two sisters and two brothers, Angela Dunston Barakat (Russ), Sean Dunston (Erin), Scott Dunston (Morgan), and Candice Dunston; 1 niece and 5 nephews, Justin Barakat and Evie Barakat, Caleb Dunston (Melanie) and Caiden Dunston, Nathan Gregory and Connor Dunston.
Visitation will be Saturday, January 17, 2026, 11:00am-1:00pm, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00pm in the Chapel and Interment will follow at Griffin Cemetery in Moss Point.
