Carolyn Sue Hall Meyer passed away on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 in Ocean Springs, MS.
Carolyn was born in Atlanta, GA to Charles R. and Phyllis R. Hall on November 2, 1946. She met and married the love of her life, John M. Meyer. John was a veteran in the United States Army serving during the Vietnam War and she stood proudly beside him until his death in 2019. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in education from Milligan College and a Masters degree in media from USM. She taught for 33 years in both public and private schools. She was passionate about youth and making a difference in their lives. She was a faithful member of St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs, MS, serving in various capacities over the years and sharing her love and talent as a pianist. She along with John were founding members of the St. Michael Catholic Mission in Alabama.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband John, after 50 years of marriage.
She is survived by her children, Vicky Meyer Wright (George J. Wright) of Delisle, MS, Stacy Meyer Dockens (Paul A. Dockens) of St. Martin, MS, Kenneth M. Meyer of Biloxi, MS and Melissa Meyer Jett-Bass (Derek P. Bass) of D’Iberville, MS; brothers, Charles R. Hall Jr. of Ocean Springs, MS and Gary L. Hall (Minako S. Hall) of Fayetteville, NC.; grandchildren ; Jennifer (Kris) McKenzie, Brenna (Justin) Dowdle, Christina Wright, Travis (Lily) Williams, William (Courtney) Wright, Jonathan (Jordan) Williams, Jacquelyn McGrew, Nicole Caillavet, Kayla (Aaron) Slaughter, Brooklyn (Jacob) Germany, Christian M. Meyer, M. Hayden Johnson, Z. Hunter Johnson and Caralynn R. Jett; 21 great grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
A visitation will be held at St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church in Ocean Springs on Saturday, May 25, 2024 from 10:00-10:30 am. A Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:30am with Father Henry McInerney as the celebrant. Interment will conclude at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula, MS. Serving as pallbearers will be William J. Wright, Jonathan P. Williams, Samuel W. Hall, M. Hayden Johnson, Z. Hunter Johnson and Christian M. Meyer.
