Casandra Bryant (Sandy) was born on January 22, 1946 in Linden, Texas to Curtis and Bernice Severs. The family settled in Pascagoula, Mississippi where she grew up and graduated from Pascagoula High School. She graduated from Clarke Memorial College where she met her husband, Howard Jackson (Jackie) Bryant.
Doctors gave them little chance to have children, but after turning the matter over to God, they were blessed with not one but two beautiful young ladies, Christy Dove and Candace Peters.
Sandy became a faithful helpmate devoted to the ministry of the gospel as she helped her husband be the best he could be in the field of Christian Education. Sandy served in many facets of children ministry in the churches they served. After 42 years of ministry service, Sandy and Jackie moved back to Montgomery, Alabama to retire.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Jackie Bryant of Montgomery, AL daughters, Christy (Don) Dove of Pike Road, AL and Candace (Scott) Peters of Northport, AL; grandchildren Lindsey (Luke) DeMarco, Madilyn Peters, and Ashley Dove; great-grandchildren, Cruz Cochran and Graysen DeMarco; her sisters, Suzette (Severs) Rogers of West Columbia, Texas and Annette (Bill) Severs Carr of Trophy Club, Texas. She is preceded in death by her father, Curtis “Red” Severs, her mother, Bernice Severs, her brother, Curt Severs, her brother-in-law, Ross Rogers and nephew, Art Rogers.
Visitation will be Tuesday, April 4, 2023, from 10:00am - 11:00am at O'Bryant - O'Keefe Funeral Home, with funeral service beginning at 11:00am. Interment will conclude at Machpelah Cemetery.
