Cassie "Butch" R. Jones

Cassie “Butch” Jones, age 77, of Gautier passed away peacefully on Sunday, Feb. 18, 2024 surrounded by his family at his home.  He was born July 5, 1946 in Pascagoula and has been a long-time resident of this area.  Butch graduated from Moss Point High School in 1964 and participated in the following sports: Football, Baseball, Basketball and Track.  

He graduated from University of Southern Mississippi with a Bachelors’ Degree in Science and was a former employee of Ralph M. Parson’s Engineering Firm and Brown and Root in Pascagoula. 

Butch enjoyed fishing, spending time with his friends and family, and was a former member of Masonic Lodge in Gautier. 

He is preceded in death by his parents, Cassie Robert Jones and Beulah Vivian Jones; two brothers, Bobby Jones and Ralph Jones.

Butch in survived by his wife of 51 years, Sylvia Jones, Gautier; son, Brandon Jones, Ocean Springs; daughter, Ashley Jones Larsen (Lindsey), Pascagoula; three sisters, Hilda Smith, Slidell, LA; Betty Watts (Pat), Pascagoula;  Kathy Clark (Jimmy), Moss Point; two granddaughters, Lilly Larsen and Madison Larsen; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.  A special thank you to Charles Koski for his friendship and support.

Visitation with the family will be Thursday, Feb. 22, 2024 from 2:00-4:00pm at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.  You may send condolences to his family or share a memory of Butch on the Tribute Wall.
