Mrs. Catherine McIlwain age 84 of Pascagoula, MS passed away peacefully at a local hospital Friday, May 15, 2020. Born July 12, 1935 in Clark County, AL, to the late Bascomb Barrett and Mabel Mamie Roach Skipper, she had been a resident of Pascagoula since 1956. Mrs. McIlwain was a bookkeeper and was a longtime member of Eastlawn United Methodist Church. She enjoyed Working in her yard and painting interiors of homes. In 1956 she married the love of her life Robert Louis McIlwain Jr., he preceded her in death on Jan. 19, 2016.
In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her brother Mr. Hal Skipper.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter Lisa Delia of Evergreen, CO; her sister Rachel Patricia Grubbs; her sister-in-law Jean Skipper; two grandchildren Alexander P. Delia and his wife Laura, Lauren E. Stieren and her husband Sean; and host of lifelong friends.
Funeral services for Mrs. McIlwain will be at 1:00 PM, Thursday, May 21, 2020 from the chapel of the funeral home. Entombment will take place at Jackson County Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM prior to the service. The funeral service will be live streamed on the funeral homes Facebook page at 1:00 PM. Social distancing regulations will be followed for those who are able to attend. Those desiring to make memorial contributions may do so to Eastlawn United Methodist Church. Arrangements are under the direction of O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula.
