Charles F. “Rusty” Broadus Jr. departed this life surrounded by family and presence of the Creator, on Monday, September 2, 2024.
Charles was born a preemie on June 17, 1959 to Charles Broadus Sr and Mary Wooten Broadus in Mobile, AL. He was often lovingly described as hard-headed, it was that tenacity from birth that pushed him to overcome many obstacles along the journey of life. When Rusty committed to something he was in in full force and hundred percent. He worked offshore for many years and loved bass fishing and hunting. He was a lifetime Alabama fan, so much so that on Saturday as he lay in the hospital room weak and unable to respond little, at the mention of Alabama he raised his hand in a sign of victory. We all knew had he been able “Roll Tide” would have followed.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a niece Demea Marie Mercer and great nephew, Hunter Douglas Guy.
He is survived by two sisters, Linda Marie Davis and Angela Guy (David ); nieces and nephews, Earl Lavon Davis (Wronda), Ryan Lee Davis (Alice), Brooke Elaine Smith (Christopher), David Craig Guy, Lee Ashley Guy (Jodie), Carrie Guy Allred (Stephen) and Philip Mallard Guy; 18 great nieces and nephews and a host of friends.
Memorial service will be held Saturday, November 23, 2024 at The Sanctuary, 1306 Ingalls Ave, Pascagoula, MS at 11:00 am with Visitation one hour prior to service. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
