Charles “Chuck” R. Harbison, age 71, of Pascagoula passed away Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2024 at Veteran’s Home in Collins, Ms. He was born Oct. 11, 1952 in Pascagoula as one of the 10 children born to his parents.
Chuck graduated in 1971 from Pascagoula High School and enlisted into the U.S. Navy. He actively serviced in the U.S. Navy for 8 years and the Naval Reserves for a number of years.
In the Navy, he received his Naval training as an electrician and worked for Ingalls Shipbuilding, Hamm Industries, Pipeline Testing Company, Campion Paper Mill, and a number of Paper Companies. He was a Marine Electrician, Welder, and Master Mechanic.
Chuck retired at the age of 62 and enjoyed fishing, visiting with family and especially time with others during the holidays.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Dan Coy Harbison, Sr. and Genevia Harbison; two brothers, Ricky Harbison and Dan Harbison, Jr; sister, Luanne Graybill; brother- in- law, Woody Graybill; sister-in-law, Cheryle Harbison;
Chuck is survived by three brothers and three sisters, Don Harbison (Gracie), Pascagoula; Lee Harbison (Tonya), Lucedale; Glenn Harbison, Moss Point; Jeanne Thomas (Hal), Tylertown, MS; Susan Ros (Mike), Prattville, AL; Kaye Truitt (Hal), Columbus, MS; sister-in-law, Sandy Lindsey, Sumrall ,Ms; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, March 5, 2024, 9:30am-10:30am, at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula. Funeral Service will be 10:30am in the funeral home chapel with his nephew, Rev. Richard Harbison officiating. Interment will follow at Biloxi National Cemetery in Biloxi, MS. You may send condolences to his family or share a memory of his on the Tribute Wall.
