Charles James Anderson
April 5, 1965 - December 25, 2024
Charles James Anderson, a devoted son, brother, and friend, passed away on December 25, 2024. Born on April 5, 1965, in Pascagoula, Mississippi, Charles grew up in Gautier and graduated from Pascagoula High School in 1984.
Charles pursued higher education in Business Management at Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College. His adventurous spirit led him to participate in the Disney College Program from 1991 to 1993 in Orlando, Florida.
With a strong work ethic, Charles built a career in security and safety. He worked as a Sgt./Lt. Fire Safety/Security Officer at Allied Universal Security Services and as a Security Guard Supervisor at Andy Frain Services, both in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. Previously, he served as a Sergeant Fire Safety/Security Officer at Walden Security, a First Responder/Security Officer at Harrah's Gulf Coast, and a Slot Floor Person at Beau Rivage Casino and Resort.
A loyal fan of the University of Alabama and Alabama Football, Charles proudly proclaimed "Roll Tide!" to anyone who would listen. In his free time, he enjoyed watching comedy movies, especially "50 First Dates" and "Sweet Home Alabama." He also loved the TV show "Hee Haw" and reading the Bible. Charles was a member of Grants Creek Baptist Church in Fosters, Alabama.
Those who knew Charles will remember his infectious enthusiasm, generous spirit, and famous bear hugs – the ones that lasted a little longer and stronger than expected. His love for life's simple pleasures, like Jolly Rancher candies and Krispy Kreme Doughnuts, brought him immense joy.
His resilience and determination were inspiring, as evidenced by his successful liver transplant on December 2, 2024.
Charles will be deeply missed by his loved ones and friends. His memory will live on through the countless lives he touched.
He is preceded in death by Uncle Larry Vann, Aunt Joyce Moore, Cousin Betty Ann Waller, Cousin Sandra Sandford, Cousin Tammy Beatty, Cousin Rebecca Crawford, Uncle Howard Moore, Aunt Tiny Mae Moore, Uncle William Moore, Aunt Norman Moore, Aunt Sarah McCool, Uncle Breland McCool, Aunt Betty Colburn, Uncle John Colburn, Aunt Carol Dahlgren, Uncle Wayne Dahlgren, and Uncle Jimmy Johnson.
Survived by his parents Mike and Susie (Moore) Anderson; brothers Randy, Mark (Chrystelle), and Jason (Ashley); four nieces and five nephews, Logan, Lara, Brandon, Cynthia, Hayden, Damion, Nick, Ana, and Loren.
Rest in peace, Charles James Anderson. You now have the best seat to all Alabama Football games. Roll Tide!
