Curtis Creel

Curtis Creel, age 92, died Dec. 4, 2020 at his home with his loving children by his side. He was born in Grand Bay, AL to Hardy H. Creel/Creal and Della Mae Wiggins. Curtis serviced in Army Air Corp in WWII in Europe. He worked for International Paper Company for 40 years. Curtis and Gloria Creel were married in 1950. He loved fishing and was an excellent cook. Curtis was the last surviving sibling of children of Hardy and Della Creel. He was Christian and baptized in Jesus Name by Bro. James Hankins of First United Pentecostal Church, Vancleave, MS.

Preceding him in death are: his daughter, Annette Creel Walker, his parents; siblings, Hardy Creel, Mae Bell Creel, Lottie Creel, L. Creel, John Creel, Esther (Creel) Felks, Harold (Sylvia) Creal, Iris (Creel) Walker, Clayton Creel, Alvin Creal. Ruth (Creel) Howell. His Grandfather Elijah Creel and grandmother Vina (Dearman) Creel Stapleton of Mobile County, AL and grandfather Christopher C. Wiggins and Martha (Owens) Wiggins. Also preceding him in death his father-in-law, Guy George Pendarvis, (son of J.J. Pendarvis and Molly (Mary) Jones; and mother-in-law Anna Mae Kumpakiske Schultz of Jackson County, MS; her parents, Henry and Marie Kumpakiske Schultz of Russia. Also, grandchildren, Dr. Kara Creel and Cindy Kay Knippers; son-in-law, David L. Kendrick; brother-in-law Houston (Pete) Hudson.

He is survived by his children; David Gary Creel, Patricia (Creel) Knippers Kendrick, Donald Paul (Sandra) Creel, Karen Bonin, John Curtis (Rita) Creel. His grandchildren: Julene Knippers (David) Irwin, Jason Creel, Morgan (Lesley) Creel, Joshua Bonin. Alan (Leeann) Walker and Ina Walker; great-grandchildren: Joshua, Leeland and Jordan Bonin, Jonathan, Deanna and Abby Irwin, Lillie, Kayden, and Gage Creel and Alan Curtis Walker.

Visitation will be Monday, December 7, 2020 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 2-3pm with funeral to follow in the chapel at 3pm. Graveside services will conclude at Union Cemetery. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
