David Lee “Dink” Hamilton, Sr. age 90, of Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Dec. 30, 2020 in Pascagoula. He was born in Pascagoula on July 5, 1930 as the only child to William Davis and Olive Josephine Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton was a proud U.S. Marine Veteran having served during the Korean War. He retired in 1995 after 45 years of employment at International Paper Company. He was a member of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula. Dink enjoyed working on cars in his younger years, and loved to work outside taking pride in his yard.
He is preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Barbara Jean Hamilton. Mr. Hamilton is survived by his daughter and son, Cheryl Hamilton Vaughan (Richard), Pascagoula; and David L. Hamilton, Jr. (Tanya), Franklin Creek; three grandsons, David Lee Hamilton, III (Tina), Lucedale; Joshua Hamilton (Jenna) and Reece Hamilton, both of Franklin Creek; 3 great grandchildren, D.J. Reid, Abigail Hamilton, and Chesney Hamilton.
Visitation will be Saturday, Jan. 2, 2021, 2:00- 3:00pm at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home, in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 3:00pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery in Pascagoula.
Due to COVID-19, masks and social distancing will be necessary. For those not able to attend, you may watch the livestream service on the funeral home’s Facebook page.
