Donna Whitaker Bass

Donna Whitaker Bass passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021 in Mobile, Al at the age of 66.

Donna was born on January 17, 1955 to Donald and Frances Whitaker in Wintergarden, FL. She graduated from Occee High School and was a part of the 1978 State Softball Championship. She enjoyed gardening and yard work. She was property manager for 20+ years at Compass Point and Carriage House Apartments. After retirement, she and Geno traveled around the country taking in all the beauty and had plans to continue traveling until her unexpected illness and death.

She was preceded in death by her parents and was survived by  her husband of 48 years,  Fred “Geno” Bass of Gautier, MS; children, Brian Bass and his wife Tracy of Brandon, FL, Melony Scarr and her husband Dima of Sarasota, FL, Jennifer Bass Peterson and husband Danny and Jarrett Bass and wife Michelle all of Gautier, MS; brother, Joseph Whitaker and his wife Betty of FL ; many grandchildren and great grandchildren; and her yorkies, Katie, Cody and Scrappy along with a multitude of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be Tuesday, March 23, 2021 at Gautier O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 3pm to 5pm.  Private inurnment will conclude at Biloxi National Cemetery on Wednesday, March 24, 2021. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obryantokeefe.com
