Dovie Jo Allen

Dovie Jo Allen was born on October 21, 1935 and passed away on June 10, 2021.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William M.  Allen and Ethel L. Allen;  her brothers and sisters, John F. (Bessie Lee) Allen, Pauline (Jimmy) Lewis, Gladys O'Shaugnessy, Willie R. (Nell) Allen, Evelyn Peavey, James D. Allen (Buddy), Vernon L. Allen, Robert E. (Eleanor) Allen, Ruby Koster, Charles A. Allen, Hubert M. (Mitzi)  Allen, and Morris B. Allen.  She is survived by one sister-in-law, Sybil (Vernon) Allen.

She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews. 
Dovie was very much loved by her family.  Despite not being able to walk or talk, she loved life and enjoyed going places and doing things that she was able to do.  Her strong spirit and humor in the face of all her limitations was an inspiration to all of us.  We all have many happy memories of her.  

Visitation will be Friday, June 18, 2021 from 12 noon to 1:00pm at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow at 1:00pm in the funeral home chapel.  Committal Service will be at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa.
