Dr. Terry Wayne Taylor

Dr. Terry Taylor passed away on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the age of 72. Terry was born on December 15, 1953, in Hattiesburg, MS to Maynard and Sue Gullett Taylor. In 1974 he married his high school sweetheart, Cynthia Darlene Rummage and together they remained as one.  After graduating from Pascagoula High School, he furthered his education by receiving his Doctorate of Medicine from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine and then his Master of Public Health and Occupational Medicine from John Hopkins School of Medicine. While receiving his education he was an active-duty service member of the US Army accomplishing the rank of Captain with an honorable discharge in 1990. He was a pioneer in his field of medicine and instrumental in establishing a network of Occupational Medical Clinics in Mobile, AL. His legacy will live on in OHC. (Occupational Health Center located in Mobile, AL established 2010) After retirement from the medical field, he enjoyed being with his grandchildren and playing the stock market.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by two grandsons, Harrison McCraney and Gabriel Taylor.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years Cynthia Darlene Taylor; two children, Terry Brian Taylor and Avery Taylor McCraney and her husband, Marshall; siblings, Debbie Powell, Donna Green, Danita Taylor, Stacey Glenn, Tony Taylor (Kristin) and Tim Taylor (Brandi); grandchildren and the joy of his life, Lily Taylor, Ava and Taylor McCraney.

Visitation for Dr Taylor will be Monday July 6, 2026 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula from 12:00-2:00 PM. A graveside with military honors will follow at Machpelah Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers will be Seth Powell, Drew Powell, Logan Morris, Austin Green, Christian Taylor and Jay Brown.
