Effie Mae Asproudis at the age of 84, joined the heavenly angels Tuesday, June 16, 2020.
Effie was one of 12 children born to Jesse and Callie Williams. She was born August 3, 1935 in Pass Christian. Throughout her life like most she faced obstacles and hardships but she conquered them with grit, determination and faith that God would provide, and he did. Effie loved her family deeply and unconditionally. She was a longtime member of Turning Point UPC of Gautier. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was an incredible cook and there was always room for one more around her table. Today she is at peace sitting at the greatest table of them all.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her daughter, Effie LaDonna Tarnovska and three siblings, Levon Williams, Hazel Bates, and Vivian Graham.
She is survived by her children, Brenda Jobe of Gautier, MS Cynthia Owen (Rev. Kerry) of Greenwood, MS, Charlotte Dickson (Don) of Foxworth, MS, DeWanda Donnelly of Vancleave, MS., David Pruitt and Christopher Asproudis both of Gautier, MS and Angela Arender( Jason) of Arkansas; son-in-law, John Tarnovska of TN; siblings, Jasper, Rayford, Virgil, Patsy, Shirley , Elaine, Myrtis, and Betty; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren, and many, many, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and church family.
Visitation will be Thursday, June 18, 2020 from 12-1 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will follow in the chapel at 1pm. Graveside will conclude services at Serene Memorial Gardens. Please be aware that COVID-19 guidelines and social distancing will be in place. Mask are strongly encouraged.
