Eileen Travers

Eileen Mildred Travers, 82, of Gautier, MS passed away peacefully on Friday, January 22, 2021 after a long struggle with chronic illness. 

She was born December 19, 1938 in St. Louis, Missouri and has lived in Gautier since 1975 with her husband of 55 years, Donald Travers. She worked at NACO until she retired.  She was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church for many years. She enjoyed spending time with family, dining out with her husband, and reading. 

Eileen was preceded in death by her parent, Edward and Patricia (Kurka) Haar, and her husband Donald P Travers. 

She is survived by sister, Marilyn Smith, and brothers, Ed Haar (Carol) and Bill Haar (Jeannette), her children, Linda Green (David), Nancy Lorusso (Peter), Steven Travers (Ara), Michael Travers (Tara), and Karen Flores (BJ); her grandchildren Tyler Green, Courtney Morton (Tyler), Jacob Lorusso, Mary Elizabeth Lorusso, Caroline Travers, Garrett Travers, Michael Travers, and Allie Flores.

There will be a graveside service with family held on Tuesday, January 26, 2021 at 10am at Crestlawn Memorial Park in Ocean Springs, MS. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her caregivers over the past few years whom she treasured, Janet Bosarge, Jackie Maples, Jackie Hinton, Kathy Johnston and Mike & Terry Waters.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
