Special Tribute written by her granddaughter, Laken Lambert: It’s with great sadness and a heavy heart that we announce the passing of our Memaw, Elsie Gay Lambert. 93 years young. Memaw was a force of nature and Beacon of strength to her family and all she came in contact with. Up until 6 days before she passed away she was completely independent and so proud of herself as she should be; she cooked like nobody’s business, cleaned, sewed, crocheted, fixed people’s clothing, made her own clothes, cleaned her house, picked up her yard, mowed grass, tended to all her beautiful flowers/plants, and most of all loved her family and Jesus! She had a golden needle for sure and the most talented and strongest yet gentle hands I knew. What can you say about a woman whose heart held all the love in the universe and had the strength of a race horse! Everyone would be so fortunate to have an incredible role model like my grandmother. I am awestruck by her unwavering and steadfast faith in the Lord, she was a shining example of love, loyalty, and integrity for our family and everyone who knew her. Her selfless ways and her big ole heart will be forever missed. To know her was to love her, It’s so hard to lose a grandparent/parent but it seems harder during the holidays. Nothing like Memaws corn, dressing and sweet tea.
You may send condolences to her family or share a Memorial tribute on the Tribute Wall for others to appreciate and know how she made a difference in your life.
