Elyzee "Betty" Fountain

Elyzee "Betty" Fountain, age 91 young, went to be with The Lord on 15 March, 2025. She passed one week after surgery from a broken hip she sustained on Mardi Gras evening at the family home in Gautier, Hickory Hill, Mississippi.

Betty is preceded in death by husband of over 50 years, James "Ray" Fountain; step-son, Ronnie Fountain; brother, Russell Fuller and sister, Dora Bonceil Fuller McAdams.

She is survived by her son, Travis "Butch" Boykin; step-daughter, Nedina "Dina" Decoteau; son-in-law, Ricky Decoteau; daughter-in-law, Deborah and numerous nieces and nephews.

Betty grew up in the Enterprise/ Meridian region of Mississippi before marrying Ray and relocating to Pascagoula, Mississippi. They spent over 40 years in their house on Forrest St. where Betty spent her time developing her "Green Thumb". Betty was especially adept at growing roses and tomatoes. After the death of her husband in 2017, Betty moved to Gautier and lived with her step-daughter, step-daughter's husband and his sister. While in Gautier, Betty put away her gardening tools and spent her days praising the Lord, traveling to the nail salon, shopping and eating out. She was accompanied on her outings by her adoring step-daughter, Dina. 

The family will be having a private gathering to honor her life and you may send condolence to her family on the Tribute Wall.
