Eric Jerome Wilks, son of the beloved Bonnie and Bennie Wilks, was the first New Year’s baby to be born on January 1st, 1968, in Vallejo, California and passed away on January 9, 2026.
He was a devoted father to his four children Shae Stryker, Shyanne Wilks, Brandon Wilks, and Hanna Wilks; a loving brother to his siblings Regina, Wally, and Kim; and a remarkable grandfather to Cash, Alex, Stella, Khaleesi, and Karson. His unwavering love to his family and friends will forever be honored and celebrated.
Eric left an everlasting mark on this world, and he will be greatly remembered for his kindness, selflessness, and infectious humor. To know Eric is to know unconditional love. He would take the shirt off his own back if it meant helping someone. He worked endlessly his entire life to provide a beautiful life for his family. He would crack jokes all day long just to make people smile. He loved to cook food for others and would always say “I bet it ain’t no good,” because he wanted to hear that it was delicious or “AAALICIOUS” in his words. He loved listening to classic rock in his Chevrolet truck, boating days with family, and riding dirt bikes. Most of all, he loved helping others in any way possible. He did so with an open heart and zero judgment. That’s Eric Wilks.
Eric was a one of kind man, and he will be deeply missed by anyone who was lucky enough to know him. Although his physical presence is no longer with us, his spirit will continue to live on through the lives he touched and the family he loved immensely.
