Frances Marguarite Smith Harkey passed away peacefully into her Saviors Arms, Tuesday, June 27, 2023 at the age of 93.
Frances was born December 12, 1929 in Laurel, MS to Willie Guice and Nellie Marie Nelson Smith Sr. Frances lived most of her life in Pascagoula and Gautier, MS. Frances was a wonderful mother, grandmother as her world revolved around her family, granddaughters and great grandchildren. After many wonderful years in the financial department of Ingalls Shipbuilding, Frances spent her retirement years living within the Hickory Hills Community of Gautier, MS. Frances was no stranger to traveling abroad, as she frequented Europe often, spending time with her granddaughters and great grandchildren.
Frances was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Guice and Nellie Marie Nelson Smith Sr. First Husband, Robert Quentin Frederic, Sr. Second Husband, Swepson Taylor “S.T.” Harkey Son, Robert “Robby” Quentin Frederic, Jr. Brother and Sister-in-law, Willie Guice and Carolyn Smith, Jr. Sister, Carolyn Smith McLaurin, Niece Debbie McLaurin
She is survived by: Neices and Newphews, Kim Smith Clancy, Willie Guice Smith III, Emily Renee Smith, Mitch and Donna McLaurin and Dixie McLaurin. Granddaughters, Merete and Robert Rosendahl and Tina Marie Frederic, Oslo Norway Great-grand children, Aiden Sebastian and Julian Alexander Rosendahl and Carmen Jean and Carla Isabel Frederic, Oslo, Norway.
The family would like to extend a very special thanks to her caregivers and staff at Diversicare of Moss Point and Gentiva Hospice Nurses and Staff for the Love and Care given during her illness.
