Frank C. Iodice, (Frankie), a proud United States Marine-Master Sargent, Purple Heart recipient, Vietnam veteran, and former prisoner of war, passed away on April 22nd, 2026 at the age of 79.
Frank served his country with courage and sacrifice during the Vietnam War. His time in the Marine Corps, and the hardships he endured as a POW, shaped the man he became. He carried those experiences with quiet strength, living the rest of his life by the values instilled in him: discipline, integrity, loyalty, and an unwavering sense of right and wrong.
He was a man of conviction who believed in doing things the right way, even when it wasn’t the easy way. He valued family, faith, and tradition, and those who knew him always knew where he stood. His word meant something, and his actions reflected the strength of his character. Frank had an unshakeable work ethic and boundless energy. He loved life with enthusiasm.
He will be remembered for his strength, his loyalty, his sense of humor, and his deep capacity for love—especially for his wife, Suzanne, with whom he shared a lasting and devoted bond of 42 years. He always said, “All I need is Miss Suzanne, my dogs, and my boat!”.
Frank is survived by his wife, Dr. Suzanne A. Iodice; son, Peter Ronald Iodice III (deceased, US Marine Gulf War veteran); step son John Charles Iodice (Jennifer) - Knoxville, Tn; sister Dr. Jody D. Iodice -Atl. (Susan); cousins Pete Fargo - Atl. (Joan); Mary Fargo Towns-Atl.; Janis Iodice-Luepke (Doug) - Atl.; sister-in-law Leslie A. Lawley, Carrollton, Ga.; brother-in-law Jeff Ayers (Betsy), Carrollton, Ga.; brother-in-law Jim Ayers, Huntsville, Al.; nieces Katie and Rachel Lawley, Carrollton, Ga.; nephew Tayler Ayers, Austin, Tx.
