Fred Alvin White Sr. passed away on Thursday, June 13, 2024 at his home surrounded by family, at the age of 93.
Fred was born on June 26, 1930 in McLain, MS to Albert and Allie White. Fred was a hardworking man of integrity and honor. He proudly served in the United States Navy. He retired from Ingalls Ship Building in 1992 as a rigger after 29 years of service, served with the Sherriff Reserve for 38 years, with the Fairground Association from 1994-2023. When you mention his name, you automatically think of a servant’s heart. Fred served his country, his family, his community and last but not least his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and his home church First Pentecostal Church of Vancleave, MS.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Fred A. White Jr.; siblings, Mary Alice White Ledger, Judy Foxworth and Lynn White; nephew, Earl Hanson.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Ann White of Pascagoula, MS; a daughter, Mary Ann Fontenot of Pascagoula, MS; brother David White and his wife Peggy; five grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home from 5-8 pm. Funeral Service will be Wednesday, June 19, 2024 at 10:00 am at Richton UPC Church. Interment will conclude at Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Wilson, Jeremiah Wilson, Carey Fulmer, Ronnie White, Larsen Fulmer, and Aaron Fulmer.
