Gerald “Gary” Fay Tooker, US Air Force, Ret. age 73, of Ocean Springs, MS, passed away on Thursday, October 2, 2025, in Ocean Springs. He was born September 20, 1952 in Mechanicsburg, Ohio, and has been a resident of Ocean Springs for 40 years.
In 1970, Gary graduated from Venice High School in Venice, Florida, and then enlisted into the United States Air Force retiring in 1991 as Captain. He married the love of his life, Brenda, on October 17, 1970. In 1979, he received his Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering from the University of Illinois.
In 1991, he started his business, Affordable Quality Heating & Air, in Ocean Springs. He was member of Grace Baptist Church in Ocean Springs and enjoyed volunteering and assisting with the children school activities.
Gary had a hard work ethic and was passionate about his family. He especially adored his grandchildren.
Gary is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Tooker and Carol Carline Tooker Clark. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Brenda K. Tooker, Ocean Springs; two sons and one daughter, Gerald J. Tooker, Steven Fay Tooker, both of Ocean Springs; Sheila Yvonne Kempner, Gulfport; three brothers, Jim “Rocky” Tooker, Gulfport; Sam Tooker, Englewood, FL; Mike Clark, Springfield, Ohio; three sisters, Diane K. Landon (Bob), Englewood, FL; Beth Johnson (Mike), Marysville, Ohio; Katy Miller (Russ), Marysville, Ohio; nine grandchildren that lovingly called him, “Pop Pop”, Cameron Bradley (Joseph), William Trent Lowery, Camille Tooker, Natalie Tooker, Gerald Joseph Tooker, Jr., Sarah Fay Tooker, Naudia Impy, Trinity Kempner, MacKencie Hutcherson; one great granddaughter, Salem Bradley.
Visitation will be Saturday, Oct. 11, 2025, 1:00-2:00 p.m., at Grace Baptist Church in Ocean Springs. Funeral Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. at the church with the Assistant Pastor Kreg Carpenter officiating.
