Glenn Porter Dismukes, Jr.
July 22, 1951 – November 27, 2022 Delray Beach, Florida

Glenn Dismukes, 71, passed away at his home Sunday, November 27, 2022. Glenn was born on July 22, 1951 in Mobile, Alabama.

A 1969 graduate of University Military School, 1973 graduate of Tulane University, Glenn received his Juris Doctorate from Tulane University School of Law in 1976, and MFA from Tulane University in 1986. Glenn loved all realms of art whether he was in the cast, on the stage, or sitting in the audience. Over his life time, Glenn was a dancer in a ballet company, the emcee of the Aquacade at the 1984 New Orleans Worlds Fair, an entertainer on cruise ships, and for the last 31 years he worked as a flight attendant for American Airlines. Glenn could make the entertainment even if it wasn’t planned. This always happened on the job as he worked to not only keep his passengers comfortable, but to share some laughter.

Glenn is survived by his life partner, Kathryn “Kate” Quinn Dolan; his parents, Betty Robinson Oswald and Robert Holmes Oswald; his siblings, Pamela Dismukes Perkins (Weldon), Robert Holmes Oswald, Jr. (Linda Brand), Robyn Oswald Fairbanks, and Rebecca Oswald; nine nieces and nephews, fourteen great nieces and nephews, and a host of cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Glenn Porter Dismukes; his grandparents, William Washington Robinson “Johnny” and wife, Viola Collins Robinson; Glen Vail Dismukes and wife, Carrie Lee Thomas Dismukes; and Charles Alfred Oswald, Jr. and wife, Jeanette Bibby Oswald.

The funeral service will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel at O’Bryant-O’Keefe Funeral Home, Pascagoula, Mississippi with Pastor Scott Castleman officiating. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery with Matthew “Matt” Earl Perkins, Richard Holmes Perkins, Peter Samir Ross, Robert “Bob” Lewis Robinson, William Philip “Phil” Lawler, Sr., and James “Jim” Goree Johnson III as Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers are Gerard “Jerry” Francis Dolan, Aubury Dismukes “Diz” Carter and Wayne Keith Lawler.
