Harolyn Ruth Owen Jones

Harolyn Ruth Owen Jones, age 90, of Pascagoula passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 28, 2024 in Pascagoula.  She was born June 13, 1933 in Aberdeen, Mississippi and has been a resident of Pascagoula since 1961. 

Harolyn received her Bachelors of Nursing Degree from University of Tennessee and was a Registered Nurse from 1955-1997 for Dr. Matthew Kuluz, Dr. Julius Bosco, Sr, Ingalls Shipbuilding, and Singing River Hospital. 

She was an active member of First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula, Past President of Pascagoula Junior Auxiliary, Bridge Club that faithfully met on Tuesday afternoons, Twentieth Century Club and involved with many community activities.

 Harolyn is preceded in death by her husband, William “Bill” Jones, Sr, former Circuit Court Judge; son, Thomas “T.J.” Jones, Sr; two sisters, Jerry Owen Lewis and Doris Simmons.

She is survived by two sons and one daughter, William “Bill” Jones, Jr, (Bette-Jean), Pascagoula; Elizabeth Jones Hatten ( Mark), Gautier; Robert Owen Jones (Janice), Gautier; 12 grandchildren, Janyse Cabatu (Chris), Jamee Molander (Kevin), Beverly Hatten, Will Hatten, Michelle Hatten (Austin Creel), Ashley Ricketts, Bryan Jones, Melissa Dycus, Jarrod Rogers (Katie), Jacob Jones (Connie), Madalyn Joyce (Drew), Jessica “Fi” Jones; 15 + great grandchildren, Kaylen, Max-Owen, C.J., T.J., Kinley, Conner, Lexi, Preston, McKenna, Maddox, Roddy, Tanner, Penelope, Nicolette, Rhodes, and baby Cabatu in September 2024. The family would like to thank Karyn K. "K.K." Wagner for being a special family friend. 

Visitation will be Saturday, May 4, 2024, 10:00-12:00 noon, at First United Methodist Church in Pascagoula.  Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon with Rev. Eddie Kirby officiating.  Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.  

Pallbearers are Will Hatten, Jacob Jones, Jarrod Rogers, Kevin Molander, Chris Cabatu, and Austin Creel.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Matthew Kuluz, Charles Graham, Eric Denmark, Johnny Lewis, Jeff Lewis, Tommy Kelley, William Brumley, Herbie Simmons, David Simmons, Doug Jones, Michael Masters, Ron Smith, Bryan Jones and Drew Joyce.
