Hazel Glyn Lawrence passed away on Monday, May 15, 2023 at the age of 75.
Hazel was born December 11, 1947 to Bertrude “Hoss” and Ruby Smith in Wayne County, MS. In 1977 she married Stephen Lawrence and became a US Navy wife. Seeing the world and becoming a professional packer and mover. She worked for the Pascagoula School District for 15 years, and made many lifelong friends. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxillary #3373, serving as president for many years. She enjoyed sewing, reading, cooking, canning, puzzles and arts and crafts. She was a longtime member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, serving as a teacher for the 6 and 7 year olds.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by twin sisters, Jewel Hopkins and Janice Gardner and brothers Tony and Jerry Smith.
She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Stephen Lawrence; children, Stephanie Lawrence, Brice Lawrence (Melissa), LeeAnn Eisenhardt; siblings, Tommy Smith, Bertie Smith and Ruby Fuller (Darren): sister-in-law, Marcie Smith; ten grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
Visitation will be Friday, May 19, 2023 at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, in Pascagoula from 11am-1pm. The Funeral Service will follow at 1pm and interment at Serene Memorial Gardens in Escatawpa, MS. Condolences may be expressed online at www.obaryntokeefe.com.
