Herbert Frank Adams

Herbert Frank Adams, 88 of Pascagoula, MS passed away Monday, August 3, 2015.

Herb as he was known to his friends was born July 28, 1927 in Carthage, MS to Robert and Jessie Adams. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Missionary Baptist Church in Carthage, MS. He graduated from Freeny High school in Carthage, MS. Mr. Adams received a degree in accounting from the University of Southern Mississippi. He retired as an auditor from Defense Contract Audit Agency in Pascagoula, with 33 years of government service. He served a short time in the United States Navy and twice in the United States Army. In 1951 he married Myrtis Holifield, together they would raise two children. He was a member of The Elks Lodge and American Legion. Mr. Adams was an avid fisherman and a great handy man, who could fix everything for his family and friends.

Mr. Adams was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Rayford Adams, Joe Adams and Clyde Adams; and three sisters, Joyce Hunt, Edna Hufford and Ottie Griffin.

He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Myrtis Adams of Pascagoula, MS; a daughter, Lisa Leake and her husband Larry of Pascagoula; a son, Todd Adams and his wife Karen of Madison, MS; four grandchildren, Christopher Myers, Josh Myers, Jeffery Adams and Randi Adams; one sister, Grace Boler of Philadelphia, MS; and numerous nieces, nephews, and their families.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 8, 2015 at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula at 2:00pm. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
