Herman E. Mitchell, Jr. age 60, of Moss Point passed away on Monday, Feb. 18, 2019. He was born May 1, 1958 in Mobile, AL. Herman received his Bachelor of Science Degree from Lander University in Greenwood, South Carolina. He worked for 30 years at YMCA in South Carolina and Florida.

He is preceded in death by his father, Herman E. Mitchell, Sr and mother, Marlene Cooper Mitchell.

Herman is survived his brother and three sisters, Stephen E. Michell (Sandy), Vancleave; Rebecca Renick, Moss Point; Elizabeth Balding (Ron), Kingman, KS; Jeannie Dye (Mark Cichon), Adkins, TX; two nephews and three nieces, Jason Michell (Amber), Wiesbaden, Germany; Amanda Thompson (Marty), Moss Point; Kimberly Van Sickle, Flint, TX; Jill Cronic, Gulfport; Andrew Renick, Moss Point; long time best friend, Tony Jackson, Vancleave.

At Herman’s request, the family will be having a private service. You may send memorials in his name to our local YMCA.
