Humberto Velásquez, 89, passed away in Pascagoula, Mississippi on December 30, 2021.
Humberto was born on July 29, 1932, in Medellín, Colombia to Arturo Velásquez and Isabel Trujillo. He came to the United States in 1957 where he lived in New York City, until he settled in West Chester, Pennsylvania in 1970. During that time, he became a naturalized citizen of the United States of America. He worked as a Slitter in GraphiPacking Inc. until he retired and moved to Pascagoula, Mississippi. Humberto loved many things. He enjoyed working with his hands, woodworking and carpentry in his spare time. He loved to watch movies and to socialize at the casinos on the Coast. But he loved spending time with his family the most. He has left a hole in all the hearts he knew and loved.
Humberto is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Hernan Velásquez; and sister, Gloria Jaramillo.
Humberto is survived by his wife, Blanca Cecilia Ramirez Velásquez; sons, Carlos Humberto Velásquez (Rebecca Ann), and Roberto Velásquez (Christina); brothers, Willian Velásquez, Raúl Velásquez, Jaime Velásquez; sisters, Amparo (Alirio) Grajales, Mariela Velásquez, and Isabel Velásquez; grandchildren, Weston Velásquez, Lincoln Velásquez, Bollen Velásquez, Carlos Humberto Velásquez, Francisco (Allison) Velásquez, and Devon Ray Velásquez; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family has chosen to hold a memorial service with family in Colombia.
