Jack McElroy, 92, of Moss Point, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on October 25, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 16, 1933, Jack lived a long, faithful, and joy-filled life. He was a proud U.S. Navy veteran, having served his country with honor before returning home to build a life rooted in family, church, and hard work. A man of deep faith, he was a devoted member of Union Baptist Church in Grand Bay, Alabama, where he served as a deacon for many years. His quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering trust in the Lord were evident to all who knew him.
Jack was a loving father and proud grandfather known for his gentle spirit, kindness, and steady presence. He found his greatest joy in family gatherings, fishing trips, and simple moments spent with those he loved most. His laughter, patience, and warmth will be remembered and cherished by all who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Juaniece; parents, Percy McElroy and Macie McElroy; his older brother Edgar (Ed) McElroy; mother of his beautiful children, Vivian McElroy; step-son Kenneth Richards; and beloved dog Brutus. He is survived by his younger brother, Don McElroy (Pat); his three children, Deborah King (Tony), Donna Wilson, and Dwayne McElroy (Laura); his stepchildren Linda Butler (Steve), Cathy White (Thomas), Steven Richards, Mark Richards, and Roxanne Faulk; his grandchildren, Carlton, Tony, Chase, Taryn, Lauren, Jourdan, Victoria, and Preston; and numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren who all brought him endless pride and happiness.
Jack’s faith, love, and legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of everyone who was blessed to know him. He will be immensely missed and never forgotten.
Visitation will be Thursday, Oct. 30, 2025, 10:00am - 12 noon, at O'Bryant-O'Keefe Funeral Home in Pascagoula. Funeral Service will begin at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel following by graveside service at Machpelah Cemetery in Pascagoula.
